Additionally, Ken has worked as a Social Worker serving children in foster care, and a mentor with the Gwinnett County Schools Community Based Mentoring program. He was recently appointed to the Gwinnett County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) Board, and has served on three local school councils where his children have attended. Ken is a graduate of the All About Developmental Disabilities (AADD) Partners in Policymaking course and Georgia Advocacy Office (GAO) Parent Leadership Support Project.
Total Life Coaching and Consulting, TLC2, was developed to serve as a consulting service for families and individuals with special needs.
With first-hand experience in parenting children with special needs, TLC2’s consultants are acutely aware of the challenges and obstacles families encounter when trying to get the optimum help for their child. As consultants, Ken and Vanessa recognize that the services offered rarely compliment the fee asked. These barriers led the couple to embark on a mission to provide special needs families with affordable advocacy services directed by compassionate and experienced family coaches.
Using the experiences the TLC2 coaches had with thier special needs children who were transitioning through the different stages of life (pre-school - adulthood), the coaches desired to serve as mentors available to coach other children and their families. As parents who have been where you are, TLC2 understands that it is not only the child’s best interest that is important, but it is also crucial to support the family unit as well.
